Monday, 19 May 2014

What boating memories do you treasure from your childhood? Trailing your feet in the water, squealing with delight, having a go at steering, and learning new skills, or discovering new beaches and going for a swim? Water skiing, fishing, picnics, and cruising with no agenda; there’s so much space, and so much peace but never a dull moment when you have a boat. If you’re a parent or grandparent you may now choose to spend your leisure time showing the children just how awe inspiring the sea can be.

Viewing at sunset

Friday, 23 August 2013

Last night was a lovely evening, firstly meeting up with the Chapman's for a cup of tea whilst watching over their floating home. Pity I didn't get to have a cuddle with the two special crew members. Then followed a viewing whilst watching the sun starting to set, just perfect conditions to show off a boat. The deal was done and all went home happy. I arrived home at 9pm with the main man having cooked up a lovely BBQ and better than that, the wine was chilled and poured out. Does life get any better than this!!!

The Superweekend

Wednesday, 26 June 2013

Boatshed Torquay made a big splash at 'The Superweekend' held on the embankment in Torquay on 15th and 16th June. We took the 'Pantera 41 P1 Offshore Racing Boat' which we have for sale, it can be seen on www.boatshedtorquay.com. It was a free event with all sorts of super cars and boats. However, Boatshed Torquay had the biggest vessel there and yes size does matter. The sound of roaring, expensive engines was extremely exciting and definitely left you with a smile on your face. I fell in love with a 'Bentley' and a miniature pig (don't ask)!! Whilst Will has confirmed to me that for Christmas an Aston Martin will do.
On a personal level it was great to see the kids faces, small and large, when they saw our Pantera and hear their fab comments. The Best comment, however, came from a young boy who was asking us lots of questions and then we told him the price, he then very calmly turned to his Dad and said 'Daaaaaaaaaaad, please can I have this boat?'. So sweet!!!

Boatshed goes Responsive!
Today, nearly 30% of Boatshed's traffic is mobile. By the end of next year, this may exceed 50% Tablet sales are expected to exceed 100 million this year. Smartphones, of course, are also a hot commodity, with the majority of people now owning a smartphone.
The shift to mobile is happening at an extraordinary speed. For those of us who create the Boatshed websites and services, all this leads to a singular conclusion: A million screens have bloomed, and we need to build websites that work better on all of them.

Boatshed Safety Shop

Saturday, 19 January 2013

Nobody knows the importance of having the right safety equipment onboard better than our own Directors, Neil and Mandy Chapman, they were rescued by the RNLI in the Bay of Biscay in October 1998 when their boat rolled 360 degrees, this was a life changing experience for Neil and Mandy who fortunately did have the correct safety equipment and who credit the event as being responsible for the creation of Boatshed.
