The Nauticat 40 designed by Sparkman & Stephens is one of the models built by Nauticat Yachts Oy - Siltala Yachts in Finland.

The pilothouse is lower than on earlier Nauticat models, the hull features a fin keel and skeg hung rudder, and the pilothouse entrance is from the cockpit and not from the sides. The Nauticat 40 was designed with ocean crossings in mind and this can easily be seen when having a look for instance at fuel and water tank capacities. A large 90 HP diesel engine provides for true motorsailer performance.

The design features a raised aft cabin with cockpit forward, a large pilothouse and salon, trunk cabin and teak decks. The boat is rigged as a sloop with an optional stay and staysail boom track installed to convert the rig to a cutter.

Seacocks replaced for galley sink and both marine head sinks in 2016.

Waterline Boats / Boatshed does not independently verify capacities and measures, which are reported from seller-provided information and/or literature.
