Broker's Comments

This Mermaid is sublime. Eighteen years in the current ownership and she is completely restored and just needs a new main and jib to complete her.

The quality of work is superb.

Seaview Mermaids pre date the Solent Sunbeam and most Mermaids were built in 1922. The two yachts are comparable and the differences are that the Sunbeam has a slightly more drawn out hull ( 2 ft longer but only 3" longer LWL), a slightly harder bilge and 50 sq.ft more sail area.

So, the Mermaid is perhaps a little less of a hand full. The Mermaid also has a larger cockpit than the Sunbeam, making for a more comfortable sail.

This is a pretty rare yacht and should really be put back to use on the classic race scene.

Just gorgeous.
